The Brandy Alexander is based on the Alexander which is made with Gin and was invented to honour the fictional Phoebe Snow, an all white wearing lady in a railroad advertisng campaign from the early 1900s. When the Gin was replaced with Brandy is anybodys guess but by the 1930s the Brandy Alexander was here to stay. Whilst this tipple is deemed to be a drink for the ladies, I like to stick it in a rocks glass just to man it up a bit.
