Two old-school cognac drinks — one sharp and citrus-led, one rich and dessert-like.

Cognac, orange liqueur and lemon — a Prohibition-era classic that still holds up.
From the shelf: Hine Cognac
Ingredients
- 2oz Hine Cognac
- 1oz Cointreau or triple sec
- ¾oz fresh lemon juice
- Sugar, for the rim (optional)
Method
- If using, rim a coupe glass with sugar.
- Add the cognac, Cointreau and lemon juice to a shaker with ice.
- Shake hard for 10–15 seconds.
- Double strain into the glass.

Ingredients
- 1oz Hine Cognac
- 1oz Bols Cacao Brown
- 1oz fresh cream
- Grated nutmeg, to garnish
Method
- Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.
- Shake hard for 10–15 seconds until well chilled.
- Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- Grate fresh nutmeg over the top.
