Two liqueur-led favourites that don't fit neatly under a single base spirit — built around what's already on the shelf.
Espresso Martini
Coffee, vodka and Kahlúa — the drink that wakes the party back up.
From the shelf: vodka and Kahlúa
Ingredients
- 1½oz vodka
- 1oz Kahlúa
- 1oz freshly brewed espresso (cooled)
- 3 coffee beans, to garnish
Method
- Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.
- Shake hard for 15 seconds — this builds the foam on top.
- Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- Garnish with three coffee beans.
Amaretto Sour
Nutty, sweet and tart — built the same way as a Whiskey Sour, just softer.
From the shelf: Disaronno
Ingredients
- 2oz Disaronno
- ¾oz fresh lemon juice
- ½oz simple syrup
- 1 egg white (optional)
Method
- Add all ingredients to a shaker without ice and shake hard for 15 seconds.
- Add ice and shake again until well chilled.
- Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
